New Shoes and Barkley the Best Dog Ever

Beau got to wear his new shoes last week when the weather was so warm. He was lookin' good in his big boy shoes and plaid shorts! Come on summer! We're ready for the lake!

Have we mentioned lately how much we LOVE Barkley?! He has been an outside dog lately, because the shedding is ridiculous. When he got to come inside yesterday, no one was more excited to see him than Beau. He thinks Barkley is the greatest entertainment, and Barkley is so patient with Beau. We'll see how long that lasts when Beau starts pulling on his tail!
(BTW, look closely at this picture and you can see little white teeth on the bottom. A top tooth has started to poke through. It has been a bear trying to get those top teeth in. Everyone will be glad when they pop through!)

We'll miss you, PawPaw.

We have heavy hearts this week. Beau's PawPaw (Todd's dad) passed away last weekend. Mr. Larry was loved and respected by so many. The outpouring of support from the DeWitt community and from our friends everywhere has been overwhelming. We have been lifted up by prayer. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers. Here are few of my favorite pictures of PawPaw and Beau.

7 months old!

Beau turned 7 months old this week. I can't believe how fast this first year is going. We had a good Easter. Beau was kind of sick, but that didn't stop him from checking out all the goodies the Easter Bunny brought! We have been dealing with cold/allergies forever it seems like. He just can't seem to shake a cough and runny nose. We've been through a round of antibiotics and other various medicines, so now we've decided it is allergies. I hope this doesn't last forever - Beau sure loves to be outside!

I had his picture made Monday. He did great - really hammed it up for camera once he warmed up. I can't wait to see the proofs next week. Oh, our latest big news is teeth! Beau now has TWO bottom teeth. They popped out at the same time. I haven't been able to catch a picture with teeth showing yet, but will be sure to post one when I do.

Sitting up all by myself!

Beau started sitting up all by himself this week! He loves to sit and play with his toys. He also proved to us finally that he can roll over from his back to his tummy. I had never seen him do it until this week, but I knew he was plenty strong enough. He has just been lazy! When he's on his tummy, he pushes his arms straight up like he's doing a push up. I am amazed at how strong he his. He's a stout little man! I forgot to post that we went for his 6 mo. check up week before last. He weighs 20 lbs. 5 oz. (90th percentile) and is 27-1/2 in. tall (75th percentile).
Drinking out of a cup is another favorite thing for Beau. He gets so excited when we let him have a sip of water from our cup. He stiffens his arms and legs when he's in his high chair and hears the ice hit the glass, because he is so excited. It's funny! We are having so much fun with our precious baby. He is such a happy boy, smiling all the time. That smile is the best thing in the world. It's the greatest way to wake up in the morning!

Beau's Baptism

Sunday was a special day for us. Beau was Baptized! Our family was there with us and we had a special lunch together following church. Beau was a trooper. He did great in church. During the Baptism he watched and listened intently to the preacher. It was as if he knew something special was happening. Then the preacher carried Beau around the sanctuary as the choir sang a song just for him. He sat up like a big boy and checked the congregation out. He made us so very proud!

Beau is 5 months old today! Wow- time is going by fast! We have been in our usual routine of work and going to Teesees. We went to Hot Springs a couple of weekends since I last posted. Todd and I got a much needed date to the races while Gigi and Whitney kept Beau. We are still having fun with Beau exploring new foods. He has now had bananas, applesauce, pears, peaches, sweet potatoes, and even prunes. He ate it all up with no problem. If you can't tell from his pictures, he is a big boy and a big eater! He loves to grab his feet and try to put his toes in his mouth. We think he is teething, because the drool has really picked up and everything goes straight to his mouth.

Yum Yum Bananas!

Beau started eating "solid" food this week. He had bananas and cereal the first few days and then applesauce. It was messy, but so much fun watching him try to figure out how to eat from the spoon. I think he really likes it!
